April Goals

DSCN0388

Happy April! i cannot believe spring is here! i am liking this putting-my-goals-on-the-blog for all the world to see. it really helped me get stuff done because i was always thinking…”i have to be able to mark something off”! i didnt want to “let everyone down” (although clearly, i know you could all care less if i back up my pictures or swiffer my house…unless you are coming to visit us, and then im sure you REALLY want that done :)) and it also helped me keep track of the month. march didnt slip by without me getting anything done because i had to work on something pretty much each day.

some of the list didnt get crossed off, so those goals rolled over to this month. and you know what, thats ok. im not trying to be perfect, im trying to enhance areas of my life one step at a time! i also figured out that alot of “spring cleaning” goals were just good goals in general, so now i have monthly goals to stay on top of each month! it feels good to get organized!

April Goals:

  1. Join the gym and sign up for dance classes
  2. find a church to go to
  3. make something(arts & crafts)…didnt get this done last month, but i know a few things i want to make for some people
  4. buy candles for the fireplace? (this may wait till fall)
  5. finish moms photobooks! (you know, like the one from europe in july! yikes!)
  6. Sign up for a self-defense class Already Done! the class was awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. practice TTV photography
  8. celebrate my birthday and party like its 1999 ๐Ÿ™‚
  9. work on my secret project ๐Ÿ™‚

Monthly Goals:

  1. Clean house once a week
  2. Read 4 books(one per week)
  3. Try 4 recipes (one per week)
  4. Keep in touch with our Grandparents
  5. Go on a date with Matt twice a month at least!
  6. Send out the greeting cards for this month
  7. back up pictures that havent been done yet
  8. explore a new neighborhood/mark something off our master nyc list
  9. Daily Devotions….start each day off right!

March Goals:

  1. Spitshine the apartment once a week….want to start following my happy house‘s daily plan. we will see how that goes.
  2. Join a gym and sign up for dance classes
  3. Force someone(if necessary) to fix the leak in our bedroom so we can FINALLY put it all together …Done! i am sure there will be more done to it, but at least now its livable ๐Ÿ™‚ and YES! pictures are coming soon.
  4. Try a new recipe once a week tried a bunch of new recipes this month, i think ill give them their own post
  5. Make something (arts and crafts!)
  6. Get more organized in sending birthday cards …still something i need to keep working on but feel like i did good with this!
  7. Find out about planting something on our patio…didnt make any decisions, or buy any plants, but researched this! want to buy some herbs at the farmers market sunday
  8. Read one book a weekโ€ฆuse the library more now that its open!…didnt make it to the library, but have read lots of books this month!
  9. Volunteer somewhere. …i had something different in mind when i wrote this, but will be co-coordinating an event in Chicago for my favorite ministry ๐Ÿ™‚ so from now until june i will be volunteering my time helping with that!
  10. Figure out how I want to style our mantle. Seasonally?
  11. Take Roxie to the dog park and try to get her to stop being a bully… when it comes to the dog parks, shes not actually a bully…she just HATES being there and wants to get out of there asap! i wish she would make some friends ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  13. Get candles for the fireplace to create some ambience
  14. Find a church to go to here in the city

  16. Finish our emergency kit (you knowโ€ฆin case we end up like Denzel in the Book of Eli) …i feel so good about this being done! we believe we will never have an emergency but im so glad i took the time to put this together just in case!
  17. Keep in touch with our Grandparents …i think i can cross this off, although i still need to help matt work on it. my pawpaw got a kindle this month, so helping him with that has kept us in constant contact! ๐Ÿ™‚
  18. Create a filing system
  19. Go on a date with Matt twice a month …we had a nice italian dinner at a place hes been wanting to try, complete with good conversation, and we had a big adventure trying authentic korean food in “k-town”. and yes, all of our dates usually revolve around food ๐Ÿ™‚
  20. Attempt baking. …made emerils pb cookies. they werent pretty but they tasted good ๐Ÿ™‚
