on friday sarah, matt and i took a swing dance class at our YMCA, and we had so much fun!
there were more women than men, and the men switched partners alot, so sarah and i danced together most of the time, haha. it was fun though, shes a great partner!
i was so proud of matt, he did really well!
on the way home we admired all the christmas lights strung up around lincoln center…
on saturday sarah and i took our afrojazz dance class that we LOVE, its so much fun! and a really good workout! on the way home we saw a bunch of the santas from the “santa pub-crawl”…they literally just dress up like santas and drink all day. it was so funny seeing all these santas everywhere!
this is an accidental photo of sarah and the santas…
this is one of my favorite NYC shots ever… santas eating shawarma!
after i got home and showered and rested a bit, matt and i headed downtown to chelsea market to see what fun we could get into 🙂
we had never been to this market, i dont know how we missed it! it was so awesome! it was very industrial feeling, inside and they had it all decorated with lights and snowflakes…
there were lots of neat shops that are there year-round, and every sort of food you could imagine including an italian market, crepes, meat pies from australia, thai, fresh seafood, a few different bakeries and lots of other good stuff!
the italian market…
imports from marrakesh…
the filling station with all different types of salt, olive oil and vinegars(this is our FAVORITE type of store!)
they also had a special “store” just for the holidays, called “jingle at the chelsea market”. it was so great! i loved all the different vendors, they had a great selection!
the fred flare shop had gummie bears on a stick. so cute! …
loved these sweet stuffed animals at nook nook…
after all that shopping we were hungry so we got some crepes at the crepe stand and a ginger fizz and an orange fizz at the tuck shop!
after a yummy dinner we headed home, and decided to walk home from columbus circle to see the lights there and at lincoln center…
i loved the tree at lincoln center! it was so colorful and festive!
on sunday we rested, and matt got some work done. i ate lunch and went to the columbus circle holiday market with sarah and terri and then back home for dinner with husby.
after dinner all 4 of us decided to go see a movie (black swan…really well made, and the dancing was beautiful but i do NOT recommend it!)
this was a great last weekend in the city before i head home for christmas!
I stink at swing dancing. Stink! Also, I’ve never wanted to live in NY…but you make it look tempting! I love that you guys really get out there in the city and explore!
