so our neighbor, sarah, is from holland and on tuesday she invited us to a sinterklaas party! sinterklaas is sort of similar to santa claus, except hes a bishop from spain(weird, right?) and he comes on december 5th!
on the night of the 5th “someone” dropped off a bag of dutch treats and a poem inviting us to the party. it was filled with lots of goodies including marzipan, chocolate letters, tiny gingerbread cookies(my new favorite!) and taitai bread in the shape of bishop sinterklaas 🙂
we met her at the netherland club(which was in the same building as the national republican womens club, where i went to hear lee kessler speak) and enjoyed lots of yummy gingerbread cookies and some dutch christmas songs 🙂

afterwards we walked across the street to rockefeller center and enjoyed the pretty lights…
