on monday, matt and i had a fun little night out. it was one week until our anniversary of getting engaged (5 december’s ago matt proposed to me on an ice skating rink in chicago :)) so we decided to celebrate by marking ice skating off our list of things to do in NYC! all the times ive visited, and now living here and i STILL hadnt skated at rockefeller center. well now i can say i have!
we started with dinner at a moroccan restaurant near port authority. we had never had moroccan but we love middle eastern food so we thought we would give it a shot!
i LOVED the decor. on the side of the table against the wall they had pillows and cushions to sit on. it was so cozy! i also love the colors and lanterns.
the food was really good! they served it in these clay pots. mine had a little hat on it and matts had parchment paper that they had to cut into to serve it. unfortunately i didnt get my camera out fast enough but i did get a really bright shot of my chicken with my phone π
(it wasnt really yellow in real life, it was just a chicken. it tasted way better than that picture looks :))
after a yummy dinner with LOTS of mint tea, we headed over to rockefeller center to do some skating!
we did pretty good..you know the 5 times we went around the rink π matt kept telling me to “look up and enjoy the ambience!”, haha! it really was gorgeous skating under the tree! we almost went a few weeks ago but im glad we waited for the tree to go up. it made it pretty magical.
couldnt decide between the two of these…
ok so….we asked 4 different people to take pictures of us with the tree…and none of them turned out great…but here are some of the best…including the one we took ourselves…
i love that our subway stop was right by radio city so we could see their tree! its one of my favorite decorations in the city!
i love date nights in the city with husby…and that was a GREAT one! π
