sunday morning we took husby to see the liberty bell…all his trips to philly and he had never seen it up close!
another pretty building!
after that, we needed breakfast and we hadn’t eaten cheesesteaks on the trip, so clearly that was the perfect solution! cheesesteaks for breakfast!
after a delicious, if slightly unhealthy breakfast we walked through the italian market, which is the oldest outdoor market in the US…
what a great mural!
we went into this amazing italian food store that sold pasta, sausage, cheese, etc. those are actually 120 lbs of cheese hanging by the door!
we ate dessert (for breakfast) at anthonys chocolate shop…and let me tell you…anthony knows his chocolate! this place was amazing!
after stuffing ourselves with gelato and chocolate we went back to elfreths alley so matt lee could see it… the houses were even cuter in the daytime!
before matt and i had to head back to nyc dad showed us Christ church, which is the church that ben franklin and george washington worshipped at, among other famous folks. the church is so historical that lewis and clark planted one of the trees in the yard! so cool! it was absolutely beautiful and to think of all the founding fathers who worshipped there, it was just mind blowing!
(thats not the lewis and clark tree (i dont think) but its probably just as old!)
we packed in a ton of history and fun on this trip! so thankful for my dad, husby, and all our friends who keep patriotism alive in this country!
