on sunday we started out with a late brunch in the UWS, then walked through the crafts on columbus festival. byt that time it was the afternoon so we made our way down to battery park to jump on a ferry to the statue of liberty. we made it on the last boat of the day and had a great ride over on the ferry, with incredible weather and incredible views of the city…
we walked around the island and admired lady liberty from every angle. mom had never been to liberty island and i hadnt been since my senior trip so i had forgotten how lovely she is up close.
after we got back to manhattan we had some time to kill before dinner so we spent a little time in chinatown doing some shopping
after all the walking we had done that weekend we decided to stop in one of the little chinatown shops for some foot rubs! it was hilarious…they didnt speak english, we didnt speak chinese, but somehow it all worked out! lots of hand motions were involved 🙂
we ate dinner at peter lugers to celebrate aunt cathys birthday. brandi took lots of pics there so i only took a couple on my phone (mostly to send to husby to taunt him that he wasnt there)
it was delicious as usual, and we left very full and very happy!
to end the trip we went to the top of the empire state building to see the city lights…
i absolutely love this city, and i love spending time with my family!
