saturday we woke up bright and early and headed north to the hudson valley. we thought that would be the perfect place to kick off autumn and we were right! we started out in hyde park, where we ate at a cute little place called cranberry’s.
after a great meal we walked around town a little bit, and checked out the small farmers market…
then we headed to the walkway over the hudson, which is an old railroad bridge that they’ve turned into a great walking path.
it was a gorgeous day and there were lots of people out on the walkway…including some characters π
we unfortunately were a little early on the trees changing color but im sure when they do, it would be spectacular!
after the walkway we headed into the country to continue our fall adventure. we found a little honey stand and matt LOVES honey so we had to stop!
we finally made it to hurds family farms in modena. we had never been apple picking so we were so excited to get our harvest on!
it was such a pretty day and the fall colors were everywhere!
we headed out to the fields looking for the corn maze!
ive never done a corn maze before, and let me tell you- its harder than it looks! all that corn starts to look the same after awhile! π
we did it!
finally it was time to start picking apples! the trees looked SO pretty with all their red apples hanging all over. we taste tested a few while picking and they were incredible. an apple fresh off the tree is definitely different than one in the grocery store!
we couldnt get over how pretty the apples were! so of course i proceeded to take way too many pictures of them! π
after picking up some apple cider and apple cider doughnuts for the road, we grabbed some lunch at the taco shack in new paltz. this place was awesome! its just two guys who look like they are still in college, just making tacos…and making them delicious!
we finished up the day buying giant candles at ikea, and then headed home. it was pretty much one of the best days ever π
I just went to twitter on my Personal Communication Device( PCD) ( I made that up, its a cell phone…), saw your twitter post, then followed your link to your blog! Am I Mr. High Tech or what? Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg watch Out!
Anyway, read them all, loved them! The old school Polaroid pics were cool, but im glad our cameras are better now!
I love your Life, I know you do too. Love U, Dad
The husband and I really must plan a trip to visit the north east. So beautiful! I am imagining fall might be the best time π
Leah, I totally think we should do a meet and greet! π You should come to NYC and I’ll show you all my favorites and then we can come to WA and you show us around your favorites! That’s one of the only parts of the country I’ve never been to!
