from the desk of tara hope…

just a few random things we’ve done since coming home from Christmas vacation. it’s been nice getting back into the swing of things here in the city, even though its too cold to step outside unless necessary 🙂

last friday we went to see Ragtime. it was closing on sunday, so i was so glad to get tickets for the last night “Mother” would be played by the lead AND it happened to be the night the Library for the Performing Arts was filming for their archives. it was such an exciting night to be there, the audience was the most energetic i have ever seen…whistling, hoopin and hollerin after ever scene. i was absolutely sobbing by the end of the show, along with most everyone around us. when this show comes back, or tours make sure you go see it! the stories of struggle and the fight for justice still applies today, just in a different form.

um….yeah. i don’t really know why we look like oompa-loompas. i mean i know we got some sun in the islands, but this is ridiculous. im hoping there were some red lights from another theatre shining on us? because if i look like this in real life….i apologize to the people of new york for being terrifying looking…like little richard.

speaking of terrifying…hows about a big as big as a building to scare you into never getting into your bed again? oh the joys of NYC…

random shot….all the Christmas trees have been kicked to the curb and are piled up almost as tall as me (which granted isn’t very high, but it’s still alot of trees!)

on saturday we ventured over to roosevelt island. its this little tiny piece of land in the river that you take a 4 min tram-ride or the subway to get to. you can actually live over there, which is originally why we went over there- to check out apartments. i dont think we will make the jump, but it was a fun adventure…with great views of the city!

so we didnt end up finding the apartment of our dreams, but we did check another neighborhood-in-nyc-we-need-to-explore off the list!
